I don't remember a time where "doing" hair wasn't a part of my every day life. It started with my baby dolls. I could always imagine another style that would do her justice. The moment my mother allowed me to comb my own hair is one of the best memories of my life. By the time I was a teenager, my sisters, relatives, and friends were added to the roster.

I was always curious and wanted to learn all that I could about maintaining a healthy head of hair. Remember, this was a time before Google. The encyclopedia didn't have a chapter on hair like mine. I did the next best thing . I attended Truman college. I worked as a shampoo girl at neighborhood shops. I would soak it all in like a sponge.

Life got in the way, as it sometimes does, and I took on the corporate world. The passion for hair never left. It was my side hustle. Early 2000's I woke up one day and decided I would never be complete until I took action to fulfill my destiney.

It started with me working in a shop where the owner believed in me and my dream. Once he planned to retire we discussed me taking over and that's where the Loc Shop was born! I have over 30 years of experience and am a self-taught natural hair stylist.
